Wholesaler Membership

FEWA's member firms are independent wholesaler-distributors, located throughout North America, who warehouse the varied products of diversely-located suppliers.

Member firms distribute such equipment lines as farm, light industrial, commercial, recreational, irrigation, lawn and garden - to retail dealers. FEWA's full service wholesalers buy in large lots to save freight costs and help the dealer minimize end user costs and also provide such value-added services as in-field sales representation, product education, service, physical handling and credit and collections.

The FEWA member wholesaler-distributor anticipates the customer's needs and maintains sufficient inventory to meet those needs promptly.

FEWA members are expected to measure up to standards of good management, financial stability and good reputation. The association endeavors, in admitting wholesalers to its regular membership, to be assured that each member firm will be a constructive force in its marketing area, capable of maintaining its role as a source of supply and service to retailers and their customers.

Application Procedure
& Dues Structure

Any company whose business is the wholesale distribution of farm equipment, outdoor power equipment, light industrial equipment, timber/forestry equipment, or parts and components for those segments of the industry, which employs a full time traveling force and which carries and owns an appropriate inventory, shall be eligible for membership in the Farm Equipment Wholesalers Association.

The membership process is in two parts: Qualification and Application. A Membership Qualification Form should be filled out in its entirety and must include complete information as to the ownership of the firm, a reference letter and photographs of the facilities. The completed Qualification Form is forwarded to the FEWA Board of Directors who review the information for determination as to the applicant firm's function as a wholesaler. All information is held in confidence by the FEWA Board of Directors and Staff. Upon approval of the application, the applicant firm receives a written invitation to join FEWA as a regular member. An invoice for the pro-rated annual dues is included with the written invitation.
